Energy Workshop under Aydem and Gediz Elektrik Sponsorship

The 7th Energy Management and Policies Workshop, which we sponsored, took place at İzmir University of Economics (IUE).

The 7th Energy Management and Policies Workshop, where Aydem and Gediz Elektrik were among the sponsors, was held at İzmir University of Economics. The workshop was held in two sessions, discussing the factors and parameters affecting energy preferences, as well as recommendations about comprehending the factors that determine preferences and behaviors.

Opening keynote speakers at the workshop were Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Efe Biresselioğlu, Head of the Department of Sustainable Energy at IUE; Prof. Murat Aşkar, IUE Rector; and Mahmut Özgener. Following the opening speeches, Dr. İzzet Alagöz, the General Manager at EÜAŞ, made a presentation about transition to low carbon economy. Factors and parameters that determine energy preferences were discussed during the first session of the workshop.

Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Efe Biresselioğlu, who is an expert in the fields of energy safety, energy policies, energy economics, geopolitics and sustainable energy, the session included speeches by Aziz Camcı, an experienced person in the energy market and the Chair of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Platform Association (PETFORM); Dr. Mustafa Gözen, Head of Market Surveillance and Legislations Group at the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK); Mustafa Serdar Ataseven, Honorary Member of the Turkish Wind Energy Association (TÜREB); İbrahim Akbal, Head of Natural Gas Assembly at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB); Dr. Sırrı Uyanık, the General Manager of İSKEN and Alp Tolga Işıtman, Infrastructure and Electronics Business Development Manager at Toshiba.

During the second session, recommendations were discussed about comprehending the factors that determine energy preferences and energy behaviors. Between the two sessions, a special presentation was made on the reinforcement of the regional synergies regarding the approaches to climate change adaptation, and results of the international survey conducted for energy decisions and behaviors as part of the ECHOES project were shared.
