Sustainability ambassadors of Türkiye are being raised by Aydem Energy’s electricity retail subsidiaries Aydem Retail and Gediz Retail. As part of the project “The Future is Yours with Your Energy: Sustainability Ambassadors,” conducted in collaboration with Yaşar University, a group of 20 students and 10 teachers from vocational high schools in the Aegean Region gathered at the camp held in Izmir.

Aydem Retail and Gediz Retail both keep executing various projects aimed at fostering a sustainable future led by young individuals. The project “The Future is Yours with Your Energy: Sustainability Ambassadors,” which was executed by Aydem Retail and Gediz Retail in partnership with Yaşar University, saw the gathering of 20 students and 10 teachers from vocational high schools located in the Aegean Region at a camp organized in Izmir. Over the course of the five-day camp, attendees were trained in energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental conservation, waste management, and smart city development. In addition to interactive activities focused on enhancing leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities, solution-oriented design workshops were held for young individuals. Attendees also toured the Izmir Geothermal Energy plant, enhancing their experience and knowledge. During the camp, trainers also took part in dedicated sessions focused on emotional intelligence, mentoring abilities, volunteering, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable development goals.

Ambassadors on stage in 2025

The project “The Future is Yours with Your Energy: Sustainability Ambassadors” will progress in 2025 into the “Ambassadors on Stage” phase. As part of the program, students will concentrate on fostering community awareness and enhancing environmental consciousness by creating initiatives for sustainable smart cities.

The project grows every year

The project “The Future is Yours with Your Energy” launched in 2022 intends to increase awareness about energy conservation and sustainable cities among primary school children in Izmir, Manisa, Denizli, Muğla, and Aydın. In an effort to reach more children in 2023, the initiative also conducted training sessions in Samsun, Bursa, Ankara, and Diyarbakır. The science sessions held specifically in disadvantaged schools were designed to enhance students’ understanding of future smart cities and sustainability. The initiative, which garnered significant attention in each province it was introduced, extended its reach to include high school students and educators in 2024 in collaboration with Yaşar University, and elevated its goals.
